  • U.S. intelligence intercepts, detailed by U.S. officials familiar with them, show Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordering an operation to lure Jamal Khashoggi – the journalist who went missing last week after visiting the Saudi consulate in Turkey – back to Saudi Arabia from his home in Virginia and then detain him. Officials at the White House have discussed how to force Saudi Arabia to provide answers amid allegations that Khashoggi was murdered,and a bipartisan group of lawmakers called on Trump to impose sanctions on anyone found responsible for Khashoggi’s disappearance. The Washington Post)
  • Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will not appear at a meeting demanded by House Republicans that had been tentatively set for today. The meeting’s delay prompted frustration by conservative members of the House Freedom Caucus toward the outgoing House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.). (CNN)
