  • White House Communications Director Mike Dubke said he submitted his resignation on May 18 and will soon leave the Trump administration. The announcement comes amid speculation of a West Wing staff shakeup. (CNN)
  • Federal and congressional investigations are turning to the question of what Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, and Russian banker Sergey Gorkov wanted from each other when they met in mid-December. Kushner is said to have been seeking a direct line to Russian President Vladimir Putin. (The New York Times)
  • The Trump administration is planning to disband the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, a division that for four decades has policed discrimination among federal contractors. (The Washington Post)
  • The Trump administration is urging Congress to raise the federal debt limit by the end of July. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle had planned on holding the politically contentious votes by the fall. (Politico)
