  • House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said he plans to speak with former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey today. Lawmakers are hoping to hear directly from Comey about his firing earlier this month. ( Politico)
  • The Trump administration plans to roll out its budget proposal for fiscal year 2018 on Tuesday. The spending plan for President Donald Trump’s policy goals – cutting social safety-net programs and boosting funds for national security – comes amid investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 election, posing a challenge to advancing his initiatives. (The Wall Street Journal)
  • In Saudi Arabia, Trump criticized Iran, saying the country has “fueled the fires of sectarian conflict and terror.” He also said that “it appears Muslim leaders are ready to take more responsibility and a much bigger role in fighting terrorism in their region.” (Newsweek)
  • The White House and Congress are expecting an update today on a House GOP-backed lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of federal cost-sharing reduction payments to health insurers, a key component of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. (Morning Consult)
