  • The Senate is going to set aside the controversial health care bill that the House passed by a narrow margin on Thursday and write its own legislation, according to several GOP senators. (Bloomberg News)
  • With the Senate’s 79-18 vote, a $1 trillion spending bill that would fund the government through September has reached President Donald Trump’s desk. He is expected to sign the measure today and avert a government shutdown on Saturday. (Roll Call)
  • After using its leverage in the health care debate, the conservative House Freedom Caucus is now crafting a tax reform proposal ahead of what’s expected to be the next major legislative battle on Capitol Hill. (Politico)
